futakuchi by kouotsu futakuchi by kouotsu
very inspired by [link] and hamburgers

kind of a pain to mix watercolor with pen in paintchat but it yields nice results

in jap land there exists the myth of futakuchionna, which is a woman with a mouth in the back of her head which will steal hamburgers etc. if you don't feed it

Hamburgers make for some awesome inspiration man. tis true.

I love the design and use of white space too! The delicate, smooth shading is very soothing!

Nice to see Huke getting loads of exposure on Pixiv. I've been following his and JNT's work for a few years now and it's been awesome seeing their artwork develop. This picture looked like a charcoal drawing before I fullview'd. Enjoying that hair.

You should give charcoal a try, at least with say something like life drawing. I was drawing some wobbly old naked people with charcoal and after a couple of goes I really got the hang of it and produced some super stuff.

As for Pixiv it would be fantastic if I could actually understand any of the writing on there but I've found some completely awesome artists by just browsing about. If you want to get your hands on some of Huke's little art books there's an online store selling them here [link] but they only ship within Japan - I had to use [link] to get hold of them.

I've used charcoal a good bit in the past, I just don't like how messy it is. I don't even like using the softer graphites lol but of course I have to if I'm gonna shade. I guess the messiness can lend to a nice effect but I dunno maybe I'll give it another try soon. I probably don't rub my hand against the paper so much anymore.

Some of those pics look awesome I wish I could afford to import them orz
